Here are 5 of the fastest street legal cars (production models, as opposed to concept or modified cars) these are tested, measured and verified top speeds.

The 2013 Agera R is the result of Koenigsegg’s endless pursuit of perfection. The 2013 model features new Aircore hollow carbon fiber wheels, upgraded power and enhanced aerodynamics. The Agera R has an incredible top speed of approximately 440 km/h (273mph). 4th Place: Hennessey Venom GT
The Hennessey Venom GT is a sports car manufactured by Hennessey Performance Engineering. It was revealed on March 29, 2010. On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a new Guinness World Record for an average 0-300 km/h acceleration time of 13.63 seconds, thus making it the quickest modified production car in the world. In addition, the carset an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (320 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R’s time of 17.68 seconds, making it the fastest accelerating car in the world. On April 3, 2013, the Hennessy Venom GT has crested 427.6 km/h (265.7 mph) over the course of 2 miles during testing at the United States Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run and had VBOX officials on hand to certify the numbers

3rd Place: Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

267 mph (429 km/h), 0-60 in 2.4 secs, Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is $2,400,000. Although the Bugatti Veyron lost the title to SSC Ultimate Aero on March 2007, Bugatti challenged the record in Germany on July 10, 2010 with the new Super Sport and the Bugatti Veyron reclaimed the title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph. The original Bugatti Veyron had a top speed of 253 mph, priced at $1,700,000 with 1001 hp.

2nd Place: SSC Ultimate Aero ll

For starters, this new Ultimate Aero is powered by a 6.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that can scream up to a 9,000 rpm redline. Power? 1,350 horses, every last drop of which will be needed to hit the targeted top speed of 275 mph. Obviously, this rocketship won’t be available for short money; it’s going to cost $970,000. SSC aims to recapture the production car speed record it initially took away from Bugatti, which responded this year by building the Veryron Supersport just to get it back. Shelby Supercars believes the Ultimate Aero II will once again allow it to take back the speed crown.

1st Place: Hennessey Venom GT-2

1200hp too tame for you? You need John Hennessey’s new 1,500hp hypercar…
Not content with 1200hp that currently resides in his 2012 Venom GT, Mr Hennessey has decided to attempt tothrow 300 more horsepower into the GT2. The 1500hp, rear-wheel-drive American hypercar is mooted to be powered by a 7.0-litre twin-turbo, and will definitely still shoot thunder. The now pathetically underpowered Venom GT only needed 2.2 seconds to reach 62 mph, and creator Hennessey has claimed it could go onto 272 mph. So to drive the new, more powerful GT2, your may need to have your man vegetables cast in diamonds.
